James Cullum

James Lee Cullum, 83, Neosho, passed October 4, 2014 at Quaker Hill Skilled Nursing Home in Baxter Springs, Kansas. 

James was born June 3, 1931 in Neosho and was a lifelong area resident. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict serving as an HM2 Hospital Corpsman. James received a B.S. in Business Administration from MSSC in the early 1970’s and attended PSU. He worked as a jet engine mechanic at Rocketdyne and Teledyne in Neosho until retirement. James was a member of the First Christian Church in Neosho, the Neosho Masonic Lodge #247, the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in Springfield and the Neosho Shrine. He was active in the Boy Scouts and had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. James was Past Commander of the American Legion #163. 

James married Bonnie Maxine Jeffers on September 8, 1952 in San Diego, California, and she preceded him in death on March 20, 2011. He is survived by two sons, James L. Cullum, Jr. of Baxter Springs, Kansas and Frank Eugene Cullum of Neosho; three grandchildren, Seth Lee Cullum, Nathaniel Cullum and Stephanie Cope; and four great grandchildren, Victoria and Hunter Cullum, Andria Davis and Julian Cope.
