Marion Thrasher

Marion F. Thrasher 95, formerly of Neck City, MO, passed away Oct. 28, 2014 at Conway HealthCare Rehab Center in Conway, AR. Marion was born April 24, 1919 in Gravette, AR to the late Eddie Carl Thrasher and Myra Gertrude Jessie Thrasher. He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Ferguson Thrasher of 25 years, his parents, two brothers, Paul and David Thrasher, one sister Anna Mae Rock, two stepson's Jim Mann and Jerry Mann, one step daughter Judy Huff, and Ruby Beck, Mount Vernon, AR.

Marion was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran. He also farmed, was a truck driver and retired from the Carthage Street Department in 1985. Survivors include a daughter; Janie Carroll (Gene) Free, Mt. Vernon, AR; four brothers; John Thrasher, Spring Valley, CA, Frank and Jack (Viola) Thrasher, Lamar, MO and Doug (Gerri) Thrasher, Cartersville, Georgia; two granddaughters, Kerry Free and Laurie (Dan) Geisler, Mt. Vernon, AR; one great grandson, Andrew Geisler, Mt. Vernon, AR, several nieces and nephews, and his extended family of caregivers at Conway HealthCare and Rehab Center.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday, November 3 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 4 in the Knell Mortuary Chapel.
