Nikki (Patrick) Teller

Nikki June (Patrick) Teller, 68, of Pittsburg, passed away at 1:57 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2014, at the Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg.

 She was born May 21, 1946, at Pittsburg, KS, the daughter of Dennis and Lillian (Greenwood) Patrick. She attended local schools and received her Master's Degree in English from Kansas State Teachers College, now P.S.U. Nikki was a journalist for the Morning Sun for 47 years. In that time, she reviewed hundreds of plays and performances in the community and wrote a public-profile column, "Patrick's People." In her career she had some stories and poems published. 

On May 8, 1976, she was united in marriage to Stephen J. Teller at Pittsburg. He survives of the home. Nikki loved all animals, especially cats. She also enjoyed science fiction, traveling and going on cruises and the theater. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, James D. Teller of Kansas City, MO, one brother, Jerry Patrick of FL, one nephew, Kelly Patrick and one niece, Judy McNair, and cousins, Mary Lynn and Stephen Crosetto. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Shirlee Ann Patrick.

 A service for Nikki is set for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Brenner Mortuary. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, to sign the register book. The family suggests memorials to the SEK Humane Society. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
