Bob Johnson

Bob Newman Johnson, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Sunday, February 24, 2019, in his home at the age of 92 years.

He was born on October 17, 1926 in Dade County, MO to George O. and Ruth Emma (Long) Johnson. Bob attended Greenfield High School but never finished his senior year because of being drafted into the Army during World War II. He was trained as a radio operator. Bob was united in marriage to Bonnadell Hickey on July 21, 1950.

Bob accepted Christ as his savior and was a long-time member of the Greenfield Christian Church. He served on committees, and was active in church work for many years.

Bob was an active member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Greenfield for 30 years. He was always interested in improving the community where he lived and helped establish the Dade County R-IV Rural Fire Protection District. Bob also served as Eastern Commissioner of the Dade County Court in Greenfield.

His life’s work included farmer, Marine Mechanic, M.F.A. Truck Driver, School Bus Driver, and most recently was acting in movies. The most recent released movie is titled “Lost Child.”







Survivors include his wife, Bonnadell Johnson; his daughter, Robin Beck and husband Kevin; his step-grandson, Kevin Beck and wife Tauschia; his great-grandson, Jackson Beck; his brother, Jerry Johnson; two cousins; eight nieces; five nephews; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Friday, March 1, 2019, in Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Vaughn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Friends may also call at their convenience on Thursday in the funeral chapel.
