J. D. White

Mr. James D. “J.D.” White, 84, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday morning, February 13, 2019, at National Health Care Center in Joplin, Missouri, after a recent decline in health.

J.D. entered this life on July 12, 1934, in Osceola, Missouri, son of the late Hubert and Mildred (Combs) White. He was raised and graduated high school in Salinas, California.

 On December 31, 1960, in Reno, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Holler and together they shared forty-six years before her passing on April 18, 2007. They resided in Australia and Salinas, California, before purchasing a farm in Anderson, Missouri, in 1971. While in California, he worked as a self-employed building designer. He had a love for antiques and old houses. J.D. was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving his country faithfully in the Army Air Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Mary White; and a brother, Therald White.






J.D. is survived by his daughter, Tracy Nutting and husband, Howard, of Joplin, Missouri; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Long and Louise McDaniel; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. White are 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2019, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Roland Keith officiating.
