Clyde E. Alexander was born June 18, 1943 in Camp Blanding, Florida, the son of Clyde E. and Artie (Miller) Alexander. He entered into rest on Feb. 25, 2019, following an extended illness at the age of 75.
He served in the United States Navy, 1960 – 1964. He worked as an independent truck driver and moved to the southwest Missouri area in 1965 from Linn County, Kansas. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and dogs and enjoyed his occupation as a truck driver. He had an avid interest in American and Native American History. He was a member of the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Rocky Comfort.
Clyde and Wanda (Anders) were married on Dec. 30, 1972 in Belton, MO and she survives.
He is also survived by five children, William Robert (Mona) Anders of Anderson; Christine (Ewell) Anders-Dunsworth of Goodman, Christopher (Edith) Anders of Southwest City, Melvin ‘Hap’ (Judy) Anders of Rocky Comfort and John Henry (Carlette) Alexander of Goodman; one sister, Judy Alexander of Adrian, MO; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Byron Alexander.
Services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 10 am at the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church, Pastor Hap Anders will officiate. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Sunday at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
