Mrs. Helen Marie Medley, 78, of Stella, Missouri, departed this life on Monday evening, February 11, 2019, in the comfort of her home after months of declining health.
Helen entered this life on December 24, 1940, in Woodward, Oklahoma, daughter of L.G. “Jack” and Gladys Marie (Parks) Woodfill. She was raised in Mustang, Oklahoma and was a 1959 graduate of Mustang High School.
She married her high school sweetheart, Dale Medley, on November 26, 1958, and to this union two sons were born. They moved from Oklahoma to Stella, Missouri, in 1968. She worked for Emerson Electric in Rogers, Arkansas and was also a meter reader for New-Mac Electric. For health reasons she retired in 1998 from Wal-Mart in Neosho, Missouri, where she was a cashier for seven years. She enjoyed spending countless hours with her grandchildren, working crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting and had a love for animals. Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stella, Missouri.
Her father and one sister, Anna Vangilder preceded her in death.
Helen is survived by her husband of sixty years, Dale Medley of the home; two sons, Jack Lee Medley and wife, Sherri, of Neosho, Missouri and Jerry Dale Medley and wife, Pam, of Bethel Heights, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Tiffany Lynn Medley, Tyler Lee Medley, Darren Ray Medley, Shelby Louise Dutra and Amber Diane Medley; two step-grandchildren, Megan Sweat and Jason Errett; a great grandson, Carter Ray Dutra, whom will be arriving in March; her mother, Gladys Marie Woodfill of Pineville, Missouri; a sister, Kathryn Clark of Grove, Oklahoma; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held graveside on Friday morning, February 15, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Tracy Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri, with Rev. Jack Medley officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Darren Medley, Matt Hixon, Doug Holmes, Steve Holmes, David Meador and Joseph Hixon. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
