Robert Wayne Ralston, age 90, Carthage, MO, passed away surrounded by his family early Saturday morning, February 9, 2019 at his home.
Robert was born December 27, 1928 in Carthage, MO to the late Burke Ralston and Mamie (Kirby) Ralston.
He married his wife of 70 years, Vonna Havens on June 19, 1948 in Carthage, MO. He served in the United States Army at the age of 17 for two years. He was a lifelong member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. Robert was a car salesman for Quality Dodge and C&C Ford and later a livestock trader. He loved sports, especially the Kansas City Royals and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Vonna, Carthage, MO; five daughters, Beverly Elder, Webb City, MO; Cindy Hicks (Randy), Carrollton, TX; Terrie Bevington, Purcell, MO; Christi Armstrong(Robert), Lakewood, WA; Kari Burnham (Wes), Carl Junction, MO; one son, Jerry Ralston (Linda) Joplin, MO; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by one son Kevin Ralston, his parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Knell Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Fullerton Cemetery, Carthage, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Knell Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Bethel United Methodist Church in care of the Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
