Jack Cooper Hancock, age 85, formerly of Joplin, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Glen Meadows Nursing Center, Hamilton, Ohio.
Jack was born March 9, 1934 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Carl Hancock and Mayme Ruth Cooper Hancock.
Jack graduated from Joplin High School in 1952. After attending college briefly, he entered the United States Army, serving overseas in the Korean War. Following his military tour, he returned to college and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1960.
After a few jobs in the early 1960's, Jack signed on with the electrical engineering department of Douglas Aircraft Company, Long Beach, California in 1964. He worked for Douglas, McDonnell Douglas and the Boeing Company for over 35 years, retiring in April of 1999.
Following retirement, Jack spent his time traveling extensively. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by three nieces, Kirklyn, Vicki, Pat; three nephews, Bill, Todd, Andy; two grand nephews, Scott and Ben; a grand niece, Brooke; and many friends.
Services are planned for Saturday at Noon at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
