Lis McCool

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, Elisabeth Meglyn McCool (nee Jones) passed away at the age of 83. Lis was preceded in death by her parents, Glyn and Marjorie, and her sister, Karen.

She is survived by her sister Tessa, and her two children, Larry and Robert, and five grandchildren, McKenna Morgan, (nee McCool), Sarah McCool, Summer McCool, Charlotte McCool, and Amari McCool.

Lis was born in London, England. She emigrated to the United States in the 1950’s and was proud to become a citizen. Lis attended art school in London, and although she also worked as a registered nurse for several years--she considered herself an artist.

Lis painted hundreds of paintings including dozens of murals for more than fifty restaurants. She was also a happy traveler. From biking through Scotland to sailing down the Nile, she had stories from wide swaths of North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East.

Lis was a passionate person who loved to learn new things. She loved every sunset and sunrise. She loved the rivers and trees of the Ozarks. And she loved to help people. She will be missed very much.

A funeral service will be provided at Splitlog Baptist Church in Goodman Missouri at 2pm on Monday (December 7). A casting of ashes and a time of remembrance will follow between 3-5pm at her beloved home (205 South Jefferson in Anderson, MO). Her friends and family are invited to attend either or both services.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. On-Line condolences may be sent to the family through our Web-site at ozarkfuneralhome.com.
