Albert Billings

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Albert Billings, Warrensburg, died unexpectedly on Monday at 85.

Born in 1935 to Lawrence and Mayme (Chadwell) Billings, late, of Anderson, he married the former Francis Thompson, also of Anderson, in 1960.

Mr. Billings served God through a lifetime affiliation with the Southern Baptist Church.

He wore the uniform of his country and state in the Missouri Army National Guard for a term of 42 years, 10 months, 10 days, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer, W4, in 1995.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Charles Billings of Excelsior Springs.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, sister Daisy (Jim) Galbraith of Joplin, sons Greg (Diana) and Geoff, of Warrensburg and Oak Grove, respectively, grandson Brock (Jamie) of Gladstone, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mr. Billings greatly enjoyed a lifetime of fishing, shooting, outdoor grilling, and gardening. We are grateful to have had a share in that life.

Services are pending at this time.
