Harry McAfee

Harry M. McAfee departed this life December 17, 2020, at his home in Jane, Missouri.

He was born January 22, 1932, to Ralph A. McAfee and Lorraine (Ohlhausen) in Mulberry, Kansas. He was one of six children. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1950. He retired from the united States navy as a Lieutenant Commander after 21 years of service. After retirement he worked for 5 years in the Marketing Department for Cooper Communities.

Harry married Marilyn DeRenne in 1952. Five children were born during this union; David, Bonnie, Linda, Kathy, and Joel McAfee. 








In 1980 he married Emma Lee Rains and added two bonus daughters, LeeAnn Cooper and Rainey Weaver. He and Emma Lee now have 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lorraine, Three sisters, Sherry Alverson, Patty Atchison, Karran Smith, and one brother Bill McAfee, a daughter Katharine Fisher, and a granddaughter, Amber Russell. 

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Emma Lee McAfee, his sons: David McAfee of Hurricane, WV and Joel McAfee (Michelle) of Garfield, AR and his daughters: Bonnie Smith of Pittsburg, KS, Linda Russell (Jack) of Pittsburg, KS, Lee Ann Cooper (Jerry) of Anderson, MO, and Rainey Weaver (Cass) of Phoenix, AZ.

Page Sullivan (David) of Parsons, KS, Christopher Heffner (Shanda) of Salina, KS, Stacey Burns (Jason) of Pittsburg, KS, Nate Russell (Misty) of Pittsburg, KS, Kasi Hudson (Michael) of Pittsburg, KS, Cara Shouse (Brandon) of Pittsburg, KS, Jeffery McAfee (Rebecca) of Norfolk, VA, Sheena Mendoza (Robert) of Rogers, AR, Garrett McAfee (Jessica) of Bentonville, AR, Caitlin McAfee of Rogers, AR, Chism Rains Cooper of Jane, MO, Shanon Cooper (Megan) of Pea Ridge, AR, Travis Cooper (Rebecca) of Anderson, MO and Dusty Cooper of Bella Vista, AR.

Harry enjoyed boating on the lakes, adventures in his motor home and spending many winters in Arizona.

A celebration of Harry's life will be held at a later date when it's safe for us all to get together.
