Harvey Amos

Mr. Harvey Dean Amos, 73, of Sulphur Springs, AR departed this life on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville, AR.

Harvey was born October 5, 1947 in Siloam Springs, AR to the late Dean and Betty (Foster) Amos. He grew up in the Decatur area graduating from Decatur High School in 1966. 

 He faithfully serviced his country in the United States Army and upon returning he received an associate’s degree in Agriculture from Crowder College in Neosho Missouri. 








 On January 5, 1974 he was united in marriage to Nancy Kruse and to this union two sons were born. Harvey worked as a cattle farmer for most of his life and was a past president of the Northwest Arkansas Cattlemen’s association and a board member of the Benton County Farm Bureau from 1976 to his death. He enjoyed going to auctions, working on his farm and fishing. He was a member of the Southwest City First Baptist Church.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 46 years Nancy, two sons; Jeff Amos and wife Abbey of Gravette, AR and Brad Amos and wife Jennifer of Gentry, AR, four brothers; Lester Amos and wife Cheryl of Decatur, AR, Clark Amos also of Decatur, Merrill Amos and Jerald Amos and wife Connie of Colcord, OK, two sisters; Marilyn Gosnell and husband Don of Owasso, OK and Carolyn Mercer and husband Ray of Bentonville, AR, seven grandchildren; Kelsi, Jaylea, Brooklyn, Kylee, Colby, Remi and Kiana, several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services with full military honors for Mr. Harvey Dean Amos will be Monday, December 28, 2020 at Falling Springs Cemetery in Decatur, AR at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ricky Williams and Pastor Bob Easter officiating. Attendees are asked to social distance. 

Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers will be Kip Lindquist, Shawn Wright, Darin Engle, Cliff Robinson, Dwayne Craig, Avery Hoke, Larry Troyer and Keith Lindquist. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Campbell, Ronnie Austin and Nathan Campbell. Mr. Amos will lie in state Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 2 until 6 p.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Missouri.
