(From Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home)Frank E. Skaggs, 87, lifelong Seneca resident, passed into eternal rest December 16, 2020 at his home in rural Seneca after an illness.
Frank Eugene Skaggs was born June 21, 1933 in Rural Seneca the son of Lester and Marie (Strickland) Skaggs. Frank was a US Army Veteran and a very patriotic man. He had lived in the Seneca Area all of his life.
Over the years Frank served his community. He was on the Seneca R7 School Board over 21 years. Frank was the clock operator for Seneca Football for over 20 years. He served as a Deacon at the Seneca First Baptist Church. He served and on the board for the State Bank of Seneca.
Frank was a charter member and served as the Chairman of Board from 1996-2016 for People’s Bank of Seneca. Frank was a past member of the Seneca Chamber of Commerce, Seneca Investment Club, Seneca Kiwanis Club, Seneca Band Boosters, Seneca Athletic Club, Seneca Booster Club and the American Legion. Frank owned and operated Whiteway Oil and Feed from 1968 to 1988 in Seneca and owned and operated cow and calf operation south of Seneca. He was formerly was a meter reader for New-Mac Electric, a school bus driver for Seneca R7 School District and a Charter Bus Driver for both Viking Trailways in Joplin and H.E. Williams in Carthage.
Frank Eugene Skaggs married Helen Jean Conduff February 7, 1957 in Miami, OK and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Dennis Skaggs and Mark Skaggs; daughters-in-law’s Cindy Skaggs, Leah Skaggs and Susan Skaggs; brothers, Bill Skaggs, John Ray Skaggs; one sister Linda Sprinkle; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother and father Marie and Lester Skaggs; one son, Steve Skaggs; brothers Jim Skaggs, Clifford Skaggs, Robert Dale Skaggs; sisters, Lois Skaggs Greenwood and Donna Skaggs Lankford.
Family and friends may view and sign the register book at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Thursday, December 17th from 11:00am to 6:00pm; December 18th from 1:00pm to 6:00pm and December 19th from 9:00am to Noon.
Due to social distancing restrictions a private family service will be held under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca, MO. Following services Frank will be laid to rest in the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery South of Seneca with Jeff Skaggs, Bart Skaggs, Lucas Skaggs, Mathew Skaggs, Brock Skaggs and Adam King serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Boston Skaggs.
