Stanley Garber

Mr. Stanley Garber. 72, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

Stanley entered this life on October 3, 1948, son of the late George and Kathleen (Condie) Garber. He was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School, and attended college at Missouri Southern. He retired after twenty plus years as the Postmaster of Sarcoxie. 

During his retirement his biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, if it was going to watch them perform at events or just hanging out at his home, he treasured every moment with them. 








Stanley was a substitute teacher for the Joplin school district and enjoyed passing on his knowledge to the students. He was a member of the Sarcoxie Lions Club and was a current member of the Sarcoxie R-2 school board. He was also a past member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Stanley is survived by his children, Charles Garber of Carthage, Missouri, Dr. Sarah Beers and husband, Geoffrey, of Seattle, Washington and Karen Golding and husband, Mikel, of Sarcoxie, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Thomas Garber and fiancé, Natira Hardesty, Ryan Garber, Rebecca Taylor and husband, Blake, Lillian Beers, Gabriel Beers, Tiah Cupp, Tyler Cupp, Tayden Golding and Tucker Golding; one great-grandchild, Bailey Taylor; siblings, Keith Garber, of Sarcoxie, Missouri and Ann Wilson, of Joplin, Missouri; two nieces, Tiffany (Wilson) Goldfine and husband, Jon, and Tara Wilson and fiancé, Seth Kurz; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Stanley will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the Sarcoxie Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Filsinger officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers will be his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Lions Club in care of the funeral home. Public viewing with be from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. The family will not be present at this time to greet friends due to Covid. In the future the family will have a celebration of Stanley’s life and notification of date and time will be announced. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, Missouri.
