(From Parker Mortuary)Mrs. Maquellia Taylor, 77, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, December 14, 2020, at National Health Care Center in Joplin, Missouri.
Maquellia entered this life on September 21, 1943, in Gloster, Louisiana, born to the union of the late Willie and Lottie (Edmonson) Gaston. She was a lifelong area resident, moving to Joplin at the age of two. She was a 1962 graduate of Joplin High School.
Her work history included Freeman and St. John’s Hospital as well as Southwestern Bell Telephone, from which she retired. Maquellia was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey Taylor on October 10, 1988; a brother, Henry Gaston; two sisters, Velma Adams and Helen Flowers; and her companion, Raymon Thomas.
Maquellia is survived by her three sisters, Dorothy Birkhead, Ruby Finner and Auburn England all of Joplin; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Roberson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
