Joe Weng

Billy Joe Weng 87, of Reeds, Missouri passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his home. He was born October 1, 1933 in Avilla, Missouri to William Henry and Grace Marie (Porter) Weng. 

Joe was a farmer. He had served on the Avilla R-13 School Board, the Avilla Cemetery Board, and the Jasper County Soil and Water Conservation Board where he received the Andy Luys Award. Joe was an Army Veteran and a member of the Red Oak American Legion. He was also a member of the Centerpoint Christian Church. 


Joe was united in marriage to Joan Melugin on June 23, 1956 in Carthage, Missouri. She survives of the home. 








Other survivors include, his son, Mark Weng and wife Mary of Jasper, MO., his two daughters, Marcia Weng and friend James of Avilla, MO. , Melissa Allan and husband Chris of Carthage, MO., his grandchildren, Tyson, Eli, Stephanie, Sara, Steven, Ryan, Kayla, Evan, Lauren, Alex, Aaron, Joseph, and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Brooks, two grandsons, Landon Weng and James Willoughby, and one great-grandson Bowen Allan.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Avilla Cemetery. Joe will lie in state for people to pay their respects and sign the book from 11:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO. Covid-19 regulations will be observed at all times. 

Memorial contributions can be made to Avilla Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
