Betty Colley

Betty Jo Colley, age 83, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at her home. She was born March 4, 1937, in Marionville, Missouri, the daughter of Lewis and Goldie (Emmon) Murphy.

Betty was a 1955 graduate of Marionville High School and she worked with her husband on the family farm.

On July 8, 1972, she married Champ Colley in Miami, Oklahoma.








Betty is survived by her husband of 48 years, Champ; one daughter, Terrie Quinten and her husband, Mike, of Sands Springs, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Tonya Gilmartin of Sarcoxie, Lance Burk and his wife, Andrea, of Stotts City, Missouri and Austin Quinten and his wife, Marie, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren, Kelsea and Shawnea Jackson, Allyson and Lillian Burk and Callan Quinten; one brother, Don Murphy of Monett, Missouri; one sister, Shirley Baker of Republic, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Glo Bills of Wichita Falls, Texas, Veda Kessinger and her husband, J.C. of Stark City, Missouri, and Faye Berry, of Ozark, Missouri and one brother-in-law, Dave Colley, of Texas.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Goldie, one son, Lewis Burk, one grandson, Leslie Burk, three brothers and 12 sisters.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Burial will be held at the Colley Cemetery at a later date.
