Richard Haase

Richard Leroy Haase, age 77, of Pierce City, MO passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. 

He was born on Thursday, July 08, 1943 in Newton County, Missouri, the son of Earl E. Haase and Laveta (Davis) Haase. Both preceded him in death. 

On October 19, 1965, he was united in marriage to Clarice Gay (Davidson) Haase, his soulmate and love of his life who preceded him in death. Also, preceding him was one son, Mark Haase and one brother, Dan Haase.








Surviving are the following: one daughter, Katrina (Kenneth) Carney of Wheaton; five sons, Carl (Krissy) Haase of Pierce City, Philip (Tina) Haase of Wentworth, Nathan (Jennifer) Haase of Pierce City, Benjamin (Lanea) Haase of Pierce City, and Jacob (Kellie) Haase of Pierce City; a sister, Earlene (Bob) Gilman of Jacksonville, Florida; seventeen grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; and a host of other family and friends.

Richard was a lifelong resident of the Pierce City/Wentworth area. He graduated from Midway High School, Newtonia, in 1962. He was a dairy farmer then raised beef cattle while working other jobs to make ends meet while raising his family. He worked at Talbot Wire in Neosho, helped his brother Dan on his dairy and worked at EFCO of Monett until retirement in 2007. One of his greatest loves was his kids, grandkids, and great-granddaughters. He attended Van Buren Baptist Church in Wentworth for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wheaton, MO.

The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Graveside Services will be at Pierce City Cemetery on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 beginning at 2:30 PM with Rev. Donnie Spears officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
