Sharon Eidson

Sharon Mae Warden Eidson, age 86 of Neosho, Missouri, passed away peacefully of natural causes and with the support of her family on December 1, 2020 in Neosho. 

Sharon was born in Joplin, Missouri on March 1, 1934 as the cherished only child of Russell and Hazel (Cox) Warden. The family relocated to Neosho in 1942 and Sharon graduated from Neosho High School in 1952 and from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Kansas City as a registered nurse. 

She worked in Joplin, Neosho and Tulsa, Oklahoma, but was best known for her zeal as a porcelain artist and teacher when she joined her mother in the business. Sharon traveled and taught from 1977 to 1997, publishing four books and three instructive videos. She ultimately taught in seven schools, 46 states and twice in Australia. 








Sharon was baptized into Christ at the First Christian Church in 1946 where she remained a faithful member. She enjoyed a very active social life until recent years, including Fortnightly Study Club, Neosho Women's Club, Neosho Ladies Golf, P.E.O. Chapter JO, Local Red Hats Group, the Professional Porcelain Artist, International Porcelain Art Teachers, The World Organization of China Painters and as a former board member of the Neosho R-5 Charitable Foundation. She enjoyed swing dancing at any opportunity. 

Sharon is survived by her two daughters from her first husband, Robert Steen, Marla Steen Hunt and husband, Dennis of Little Rock, Arkansas and Lori Steen Barnes and husband, Tim of Neosho; she was MIMI to four grandsons, Brian Hunt and wife, Dyan of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Tyler Barnes and wife, Fran of Olathe, Kansas; Chase Barnes and wife, Rachel of Kansas City, Missouri and Tanner Barnes of Nashville, Tennessee. Mimi also leaves behind five absolutely precious great grandchildren, Ethan, Eliana and Emilia Hunt, Bruce Barnes and Elizabeth 'Liza' Barnes and a devoted Shih Tzu, Mia. Sharon has a group of lifelong friends who were as close as sisters and whom she loved deeply.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Freeman Neosho Hospital and her personal caregivers for the comfort provided to Sharon.
