Iva LouElla Helton

Mrs. Iva LouElla Helton, 76, of Carl Junction, Missouri, departed this life on Monday afternoon, April 3, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, from complications of a stroke.

Iva LouElla entered this life on October 28, 1946, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, one of five daughters born to the late Chester and Mary Isabella (Lindsey) Kennicutt. Her formative years were spent in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Decatur, Arkansas. She resided in the Gentry, Arkansas area for many years before moving to Carl Junction, Missouri, in 1991. 







For the majority of her life she worked as a waitress. She enjoyed ceramics, embroidery and sewing, playing the piano and organ, traveling, visiting with her friends and family and spending countless hours with her grandchildren. She was a member of New Hope Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Beth Ann Ogdon; and a sister, Mary Frances O’Flaherty.

Iva LouElla is survived by her husband of thirty-four years, Gary Helton, whom she married on December 30, 1988; six children, Dalene Freiburger and husband, Matthew, of Jackson, Michigan, Karen Marshall of Jay, Oklahoma, Kelli Wofford and husband, Brad, of Colcord, Oklahoma, Brenda Thenikl of Pittsburg, Kansas, Greg Crowder and wife, Charlotte, of Spencer, Oklahoma and Greg Helton and wife, Jody, of Wichita, Kansas; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Sandra Smith of Gentry, Arkansas, Maxine Foster of Trenton, Tennessee and Deanne Tucker of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; as well as a host of other family and friends.








Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in the Chapel of Parker Mortuary with Pastors Randy Steele and Bob Simon officiating. 

 The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. Private internment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
