Jabin Grubbs

(From Derfelt Funeral Home)

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of Jabin Edward Grubbs, age 45, of Quapaw, OK. Jabin passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 18, 1977, in Los Angeles, CA to Larry Grubbs and the late Stephanie Anderson Grubbs. After graduating from Dierks High School he then went on to attend college at Missouri Southern State University and was currently working as a forklift operator for CNC Manufacturing in Joplin, MO.

Jabin, who was taken home way too soon, had such a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed by many. When he was young, he loved playing football in high school and everyone knew him for his generosity and friendly personality. He was blessed with the gift of being able to talk to anyone no matter where he was at, was full of stories to share with anyone willing to listen, and could make anyone in the room laugh.

Jabin has always had a strong work ethic even at a young age and loved to spend his free time fishing and with his family. But his true passion in life though was watching his son, Keegan, play football. It meant everything in the world to him to be cheering him on from the sidelines at every game.

Jabin is survived by his spouse, Kristy Niday, of the home; one son, Keegan Hart of the home; two daughters, Torye Hart and finance, Juston of Columbus, KS and Kyliegh Grubbs; father, Larry Grubbs and wife, Benda of Columbus, KS; two brothers, Justice Grubbs and wife, Becca of Joplin, MO and Jonas Grubbs of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, Genevive Tullis and husband, Joel of Carl Junction, MO and Carissa Loomis and spouse, Tyler of Joplin, MO and lots of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the Derfelt Funeral Home, Baxter Chapel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the G.A.R. cemetery, Miami, OK.

Funeral services are under the direction of the Derfelt Funeral Home, Baxter Chapel.
