Minnie F. Hawkins, 86, Neosho, entered into rest on November 6, 2018. She was born December 11, 1931 in Columbia, MO to Walter A. and Neomie V. (Warner) West.
Minnie married Junior Leroy Hawkins; he preceded her in death on September 25, 1992. She worked several years as a custodian for the Newton County Courthouse, where she was known as the “Cookie Lady” and where her likeness is immortalized as part of the courthouse wall mural. Minnie loved cooking, baking, reading, and tending her vegetable garden.
She is survived by her son, Craig Hawkins and his wife, Etta; four sisters: Lorena Colvin, Helena Law, Thelma Berry, and Dolly Tade; and four grandchildren: Lyric Emery, Felicia Welch and husband, Austin, Shawn Spicer, and Eric Spicer. Minnie will be remembered as a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother.
No services are planned at this time.
