(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Jackie Lee Abbiatti, age 79, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Jack was born on July 30, 1941 to Francis and Ona Brewer Abbiatti. He married his best friend and love, Kay Garrison on November 23, 1963.
Jack worked at Smallwood Skelgas, Carthage LP Gas, Barton Energy and Affordable Propane throughout his lifetime. When he wasn’t working, Jack spent his time outside.
An avid outdoorsman, Jack was well known as a hunter, game trapper and fisherman. Upon retiring, those interests only grew, and he spent much of his free time catering to the needs of the quail he raised and playing with his grandchildren.
Jack’s life was a living example of Proverbs 12:28, which says, “In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death.” Jack will be remembered as an incredible husband, loving father and tender grandfather. He lived righteously, sharing all his love with family and friends.
Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay Abbiatti; daughter Valerie Catron and husband Lowell Catron; son Jeff Abbiatti and wife Stacia Abbiatti, all of Carthage; sisters Lena Stiles and Neta Stockton; three grandchildren, Abbey Rehrer, Ashton Catron and Brecklyn Abbiatti, along with several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Harry Lee Abbiatti, Melvin Abbiatti and L.D. Abbiatti.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Integrity Home Healthcare and Avalon Hospice, in addition to all those involved in Jack’s care.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Please join us in a celebration of Jack’s life.
