(From Ozark Funeral Home)Donna Mae (Shields) Renner Gonzalez closed her eyes for the last time Friday afternoon, at the age of 82 on May 6, 2022. Death was instantaneous and she woke up in the arms of her Savior. Her sister and husband were with her at the time of her passing.
Donna Mae was born on Cowskin Prairie, McDonald County, February 21, 1940, to Vades and Gladys (Moore) Shields. Her older sister, Dorothy, was there to welcome her into the world.
Donna graduated high school from Southwest City in 1958 and wed Jim Gale Renner that same year. Together they had three sons. Donna married Raul “Rudy” Gonzalez later in life on October 8, 2000, and they have shared 22 years together.
Donna was a faithful member of the Full Gospel Church all her adult life after returning to the area from living several years in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, an older brother, Richard Duane Shields, a grandson, Clark Renner, and a mother-in-law, Paula Valdez.
Survivors are her husband, Rudy, sister, Dorothy (Shields) Beauchamp, her children, Gale Duane Renner and wife, Celeste, Gene Allen Renner and wife, Patty, and Giffard Lane Renner and wife, Joy. Donna was blessed with numerous grandchildren, Amanda Renner, Vades “Chad” Renner, Caleb Renner, SheaAnna Blue, Nekisha Renner, Cassie Carpenter, Courtney Simon, Lane Renner, and Kristen Renner. Also surviving are 12 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews to mourn her loss.
Services will be held at the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City at 11:00 am on Friday, May 13, 2022. Pastor Richard Hart will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5;00 to 7:00 pm at the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Missouri on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Donna will be laid to rest in the Southwest City Cemetery along with her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, church family, and many friends, as they await that great resurrection morning. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are: Chris Anders, Arlo Wales, Shane Reece, Jimmy Roach, Galen Manning, and Ryder Haggard.
