(From Parker Mortuary)Mary Sue Jenkins, age 79, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Spring River Christian Village.
Mary was born October 22, 1942 in Dearborn, Michigan, daughter of the late Wilbur Howard Montgomery and Violet Pauline (Robbins) Montgomery. She worked for years in home health care in several locations and worked for several companies including Oxford and she was also a machinist with C & C Machine, O&F machinery, Vickers & Astro machinery. She was considered a jack of all trades and was especially happy working in her garden growing vegetables.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Delano Jenkins who passed away on June 19, 2018; a brother, James Montgomery.
Survivors include her children, Betty Newman of Joplin, Jay Newman and wife Kelli also of Joplin, Frank D. Jenkins, Jr. of Hastings, Nebraska, Brain Jenkins of California, Kevin Jenkins of Washington; sister, Karen Willoughby and husband Mike of Jasper, Missouri; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Joplin.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
