(From Parker Mortuary)Kathey Dye, age 78, Carl Junction, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at her home.
Kathey was born March 8, 1944 in Berkeley, California, daughter of the late William and Mary (Link) Allen.
Kathey married the love of her life, Lloyd E. Dye Jr. on April 21, 1962 in Carl Junction, Missouri. Together they were blessed with 57 years before his passing on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
She worked as a bus driver for a number of years before retiring. She enjoyed crafting in her spare time. She loved gardening around her house. But most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Dye Jr.; one grandson, Derick Sowder; and two sister-in-laws, Norma Jean Mitchell and Eleta Kay Spencer.
Kathey is survived by her three children, Rick Dye of Joplin, Marti Sowder and husband Rick of Asbury, Missouri, and Cory Dye of Carl Junction; four grandchildren, Caleb Dye, Taylor Dye, Blaine Dye and wife Tasha, and Lane Sowder; two great-granddaughters, Nevaeh Triplett and Sophia Dye; two sisters, Connie Frazier and husband Bill of Carl Junction, and Doris Mitchell and husband Steve of Waco, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Carl Junction Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Parker Mortuary.
