(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Paul Darwin "Dar" Morgan, 95, of Diamond, MO, passed away on Saturday May 21, 2022 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO.
Paul was born on May 15, 1927 in Diamond, MO, to the late Edward P. Jr. and Mary Jane (Anderson) Morgan. He graduated from Diamond High School in 1945.
On June 6, 1958 he married the love of his life, Miss Mary M. Fetters. They celebrated 57 years together before her passing on August 5, 2015.
Paul worked as a produce farmer until 1972 then took a job with Diamond School District as a custodian and bus driver, serving the district for 17 years, retiring in 1989. He also served as a councilman and Mayor of Diamond for many years.
Paul was also a member of the Diamond Christian Church and the Diamond Lions Club. He enjoyed gardening, especially tomatoes, fishing and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, but what really put the light in his eye was watching his family grow.
Paul is survived by his two daughters; Penny Gibbens, of Diamond and Tisha (Jon) Brisbin of Lamar; 9 grandchildren; Gayla Murray of Joplin, Kayla Anderson of New York, Michelle (Andrew) of Diamond, Melissa Gibbens of Granby, Jackson (Elizabeth) Brisbin of Arizona, Benjamin (Brittney) of Lamar, Daniel Brisbin, Morgan Brisbin, and Hannah Brisbin all of Lamar; great grandchildren, Tyler, Angela, Sophie, A.J., Isabella, Faith, and 1 on the way.
Along with Paul's wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters; Addie Corner, Helen Smith, Margaret Wallace, and Nell Harvey; brothers, Clayton Morgan and Alva Morgan.
