(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Dorothy Jean Grimm, 87, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center.
Dorothy entered this life on Wednesday, December 12, 1934 in Ruleville, Mississippi to the union of the late Elmer and Ruby (White) Williams. She was a graduate of E.E. Greenville High School in Greenville, Mississippi.
On December 30, 1954 she was united to Arlo Grimm. Together they shared fifty-four years until his passing on September 2, 2009.
In 1974 she went to work for McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage, Missouri, retiring in 1995 after twenty-one years of dedicated service. She was a member of Mount Vernon Church of Christ, and a past member of BPW in Sarcoxie. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles and visiting with her family and friends. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one great-great-grandson and brother, Billy Williams.
Dorothy is survived by her children, David Grimm and wife, Karen, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Paul Grimm and wife, Tammy, of Sarcoxie, Missouri and Michele Barchak and husband, Joseph, of Wentworth, Missouri; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Agnes Taylor, Greenville, Mississippi; several nieces and nephew; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Grimm are 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie with Wilbur Swearingen officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Alex Barchak, Andrew Barchak, Gavin Grimm, Gordon Grimm, Anthony Chambers, Michael Moore, and Clint Norris. Burial will follow in the Sarcoxie Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
