Roy Cope, 86, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, May 13, 2022, at his residence. Roy entered this life on June 27, 1935, in Albany, California, born to the late Wilbur and Doris (Gerhardt) Cope.
On April 28, 1973, he was united in marriage to Patricia Daniel and together they shared forty-one years. She and Roy moved to Anderson, Missouri, in 1974.
He worked as an Electrical Engineer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; owned and operated the sears Catalog Store in Anderson, Missouri from m1975 to 1993. Worked for CMI at Wal-Mart in Rogers, Arkansas 1003 to 2003. He was a member of the Lanagan United Methodist Church; past member of the Anderson Merchant association, Anderson Lion’s Club, Anderson Industrial Development Committee and American MENSA Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Cope and Everett Cope
Roy is survived by five children, Michael Cope and wife, Kim, of Rincon, Georgia and Joanne Peotter and husband, Ted, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Rebecca Shipman and husband, Dr. Marvin, of Jane, Missouri, Jordan "Jay" Chappie of Bentonville, Arkansas, Mitchell Chappie and wife, Julie, of Anderson, Missouri,; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Roy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Marilyn O'Brien officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
