Rylee Schroeder

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Rylee Marie Schroeder lived her life with joy and love in her heart. Her love of the Lord and her family inspired this joy.

She was the kind of person who was always helping others. Her future plans, although not decided, were to be a social worker, a nurse, or a children's minister. She always knew she wanted to work with kids and help to make a difference.

Rylee was a lover of animals and people, and she NEVER met a stranger. Her passion was music and singing. Rylee learned to play the piano and, most recently, learned the guitar during music therapy. Evidence of her tenacity and a never quit attitude.

Rylee wore many hats. She was a caregiver to her grandmother while she was ill, she was a cheerleader for her brother and sister, attending their choir and dance activities, and she was a mentor to the children also battling cancer.

Rylee completed these acts of love all while undergoing cancer treatments at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City. She was strong and resilient.

On July 11, 2003, Rylee was born at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She graduated from Neosho High School in 2021, Magna Cum Laude and attended Crowder College as a part of the A+ program. She was a member of the Show Choir’s Sugar and Spice, Choraleers, Fellowship of Christian Students, was President of the Key Club, and served on the Student Leadership Team at Racine Christian Church.

She volunteered at Hope Kitchen and for the children's ministry for Racine Christian Church. The life she led spoke of her—"Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Rylee went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:08 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, surrounded by her family. She is now cancer-free and able once again to radiate her joyous bright smile for all to see.

Rylee lived with her parents, Levi and Megan (Massie) Schroeder, siblings Erin and Colin, and her maternal grandfather, David Massie. Her extended family includes her paternal grandparents, Leo and Mi Schroeder of Fairland, Oklahoma; half-brother, William Schroeder of Fairland, Oklahoma; half-sister, Trinity Schroeder of Carthage, Missouri; uncle, Adam Massie of Mission, Kansas, and aunt, Jennifer Basuel, of Shawnee, Kansas; and numerous family and special friends; and her Racine Christian Church family.

Her maternal grandmother, Diana Massie, preceded her in death.

At 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, we will celebrate Rylee's life at the Racine Christian Church in Racine, Missouri. If planning to attend, Rylee’s family would love for you to show your support by wearing her favorite colors; rose gold, pink, mint, and teal in her memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Rylee Schroeder Memorial Show Choir Scholarship Fund, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
