(From Parker Mortuary)

Mary Jane Fannan, age 96, of Webb City, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Webb City Health & Rehab Center in Webb City. Mary has preciously resided at ivy Court in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where she had made many friends.

Mary, daughter of the late John & Effie (Bocook) Carson, was born on October 30, 1925 in Butte, Montana. She moved to Texas as a child, then as a young teen to an orphanage in Enid, Oklahoma, where she was trained in nursing.

At sixteen, Mary relocated to Joplin, Missouri and started working as a waitress at the Rex Café in downtown Joplin, where she met her future husband, William Franklin Fannan. They were united in marriage on March 9, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2008.

Mary and her husband Frank loved life. The divided their years between Burke, Idaho and Webb City, Missouri. In Idaho, when not working, they loved fishing, camping, and picking huckleberries with their children and grandchildren. Mary made the best huckleberry desserts, winning three ribbons total, and walking away with the blue ribbon in the 1990 Wallace, Idaho Huckleberry Festival. After work, while living in Webb City, Missouri, where they had bought a farm, Mary loved tending to her flowers while Frank worked in the field.

Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, whose primary focus was taking care of her family. Every Sunday her family knew she would be cooking a fabulous dinner with homemade dinner roles and tasty pies. After dinner she loved playing parcheesi, checkers, and make beautiful artificial floral arrangements. Mary has a sense of humor throughout her life that was with her to the end.

Mary was greatly loved by her family and will be deeply missed.
