Sharon Kay Lawver, age 57, Joplin, passed away at 3:17 a.m. Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas, after an illness.
Sharon was born September 27, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Milton Sambursky and Barbara Taylor Sambursky and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.
She graduated from Webb City High School in 1976 and worked for Motorola, Inc. until 1994. She then took care of children in her home for the next eight years. For the past 13 years, Sharon was employed at Waco Title Company, retiring only due to ill health.
Sharon was a member of the Joplin Chamber of Commerce Auxiliary and served as volunteer with the Make a Wish Foundation. She was baptized at Carterville Baptist Church and attended Wildwood Baptist, Joplin. Sharon enjoyed the outdoors by going to the lake and camping, or simply cooking for the family. Her family was the light of her life, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Sharon married Michael Lawver on February 10, 1989 in Miami, Oklahoma. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include four sons, Chad Tandy and his wife, Lindsey, Carthage, Jake Lawver and his wife, Lindsey, Joplin, Luke Lawver and his wife, Alyssa, Edmond, Oklahoma, Cole Lawver, Joplin; a sister, Nancy Ash and her husband, Chris, Joplin; three step sisters, Sandy Miller and her husband, Jack, Linda Leatherwood and her husband, David, all of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Debbie Kennon, Joplin; a step brother, Gerald Kennon and his wife, Teri, North Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Addy, Colby, Ella, Hadley, Dawson; and several other extended family members.
Memorial services are planned for Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Carl Junction Christian Church. A memorial visitation is planned for Thursday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Carl Junction Christian Church.
