Atalaya Kaye Garrison, age 66 of Joplin, passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, December 14, 2015
Atalaya was born April 12, 1949 to Lilburn H. Garrison and Erma J. Conway Garrison in Joplin. She worked as an electronic assembler many years ago for Burroughs Corporation. Atalaya loved kids and helping people. She volunteered many hours for the Red Cross, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers and Children's Haven. She was an avid NASCAR fan.
She is survived by her mother, Erma Jean Garrison of Diamond; brother, Lilburn H. "Chip" Garrison, Jr. of Lost Creek, West Virginia; sisters, Yvette Rider and husband, Les of Diamond and Shawna Christiansen of Joplin; many extended family and friends.
Atalaya is preceded in death by her father, Lilburn H. Garrison.
Services are planned for Friday, December 18, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
