Ella Tomlinson

Mrs. Ella Mae Tomlinson, 86, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Monday evening, November 30, 2015, at her residence, with her loving family at her bedside.

Ella Mae entered this life on January 27, 1929, in rural McDonald County Missouri, west of Lanagan, one of six children of the late Leslie and Beatrice (Hudgens) Parsons. She was a lifelong resident of the Anderson, Missouri area. On October 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Gerald V. Tomlinson and to this union two sons were born. She retired in 2006 from Tyson Foods in Noel, Missouri, after thirty-one years of employment. She also worked at the Anderson Post Office for a number of years. Ella Mae was an active member of the Moss Bible Church in Anderson, where she taught Sunday School and served as the church pianist. She loved life on the farm and everything that went along with farm life. She enjoyed gardening, cutting wood and tending to the needs of her cattle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald Tomlinson on February 15, 1988; and two brothers, Elmer and Raymond Parsons.

Ella Mae is survived by her two sons, Jim Tomlinson and wife, Barbie, of Anderson and Ted Tomlinson and wife, Nancy, also of Anderson; five grandchildren, Adam, Michelle, Kenny, Dylan and Dustin Tomlinson; six great grandchildren, Xavier, McKenzie, Everson, Brayden, Kylie and Zaiden; her honorary grandchildren, Lili, Janet, Michael, Ty, Shelby, Megan, Muna, Micheala and Anas; a brother in-law, Vic Tomlinson of Anderson; extended family, Betty and Virgil Williams of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Ella Mae are 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015, at the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri, with Bro. Bob Holloway officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Adam Tomlinson, Kenny Tomlinson, Dylan Tomlinson, Dustin Tomlinson, Ty Freeman and Michael McAndrews. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Memorials are being directed to Feed the Children Ministries and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
