Kenneth “Kenny” Sharp, age 62, of Joplin, MO passed away at 1:52 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 following a two year illness. Kenny was born March 12, 1953 in Neosho, MO and had lived in Joplin most of his life. He was a U. S. Army veteran and served several years with the National Guard. He was of the Methodist faith. Kenny was the owner of Sharp’s Import Auto Centre in Joplin for over 30 years. Prior to beginning his auto service business he worked as a driver for the Anheuser-Busch Co. Kenny made many friends from his business and never met a stranger. His family remembers him as a great husband and Dad.
Survivors include his wife Linda, a son from his first marriage, Josh Ledbetter, Tulsa, OK, two sons from his current marriage, Mason Sharp, Monett, MO, and Casey Sharp, Joplin, his Mother, Virginia Sharp, Carthage, MO, and two grandchildren, Kellen and Grace Ledbetter.
Kenny’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 9th. at Sharp’s Import Auto Centre, 3735 E. 20th St. in Joplin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
So true he never met a stranger. I am one of those many friends he met through his business. He was so much fun, loved to joke around. He will be missed by many.
