Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall for Clyde “Red” Berry, 82, Lamar, who died peacefully at his home on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, after battling cancer.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sylvia, of the home; their children, Randy Berry and wife Kathie, Lamar, Darla Haubein and husband Philip, Lamar, Bill Berry and wife Kari, Appleton City and Laura McDonald and husband John, Lamar; a brother, Lewis Berry, Lamar; a sister, Alice Coffin and husband Bob, Upton, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Bradley and Trenton Berry, Chelsea and Landon Haubein, Alyssa Berry and Darcy and Leah McDonald and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Hunter Berry.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Archie, Ira and Bob and three sisters, Mildred, Marie and Priscilla.
Mr. Berry was born May 10, 1933, in rural Dade County, to Wiley and Ova (Bishop) Berry. He grew up in the Cedar and Dade county area. As a teenager he moved to Kansas City, Mo. for employment. He was later drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served in the transportation corps in Korea. Afterwards, he returned to Kansas City and married Sylvia Manley on June 1, 1958. They moved to Barton County to raise their family.
He liked to hunt and fish, or anything that could get him outdoors, where he loved to be. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness on Jan. 4, 1975 and was a member of the local Kingdom Hall.
