Ruth Marie Trabue Doty, age 89, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Joplin, Missouri.
Ruth was born March 23, 1926 in Concordia, Kansas and shortly thereafter moved to Oswego, Kansas. She graduated from Oswego High School in 1943 and from PSU on May 29, 1947. On May 29, 1947, she married Harold Doty of Pittsburg, Kansas. She was a teacher for several years at George Nettels School. In 1972, she and her husband moved to Joplin and purchased the Jasper County Title Company. This business was sold in 1978 and for the next 30 years the couple spent six months of each year traveling in their RV, mostly to the Western U.S., Canada, and Alaska.
Survivors include her husband, three children; Rick Doty and wife, Diane, of Roseville, California, Dr. Keith Doty and wife, Kelly, of Portland, Oregon, and Jo Lynn Arnold and husband, Tom, of Roach, Missouri, plus five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
