Jack R. Cardwell, 82, Carthage, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage, MO. Jack R. Cardwell was born October 30, 1933 in Greene County, MO, a son of the late Bill J. Cardwell and Irene E. (West) Cardwell. He was a graduate of Jasper High School. He worked in poultry production for Ralston Purina/Simmons Food. Jack married Cheryl Ann Stump on October 6, 2006 in Carthage, MO. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Carthage, MO, and was a past member of various business and professional clubs.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl; children; Beth J. Cardwell, Fayetteville, AR, Lance Stump, Columbia, MO, Rustan Stump (wife Jen), O’Fallon, MO, and Dan Cardwell (wife Susan), Springfield, MO; two brothers; Bob Cardwell (wife Nedra), Carthage, MO, and Bill Cardwell (wife Martha), Carthage, MO; grandchildren; John Robert Cardwell (wife Alison), New York, NY, and Katherine M. Cardwell-Phillips (husband Ryan), Magnolia, AR, Rebekah Stump, New York, Zoe and Wyatt Stump, O’Fallon, MO; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Carthage, MO. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 AM. Rev. James Lee will officiate. Private family inurnment will be in Hackney Cemetery, NE of Carthage, at a later date.
