Leslie Earl Prier, 89, Stark City, died December 17, 2015 at Medicalodge in Neosho, following a lengthy illness.
He was born January 11, 1926 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Carl and Bertha (Goetz) Prier. Leslie lived most of his life in the Stark City area and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a poultry and cattle farmer and had worked for Union Carbide-Linde Plant in Neosho for 18 years. He enjoyed boating in the area lakes, going to Branson, driving horse and buggies, being on the farm and working. He was an elder at the Stark City Church of Christ for many years.
Leslie married Helen Elmore on February 11, 1945 in Neosho and she preceded him in death on May 25, 2012. He is also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Henry. He is survived by four children, Dan (Lisa) Prier of Fayetteville, AR, Linda (Benny) Haught of Stark City, DeAnna (Jack) Stafford of Granby and Maellen (Kent) Bradshaw of Stark City; nine grandchildren, Staci Prier Graber, Delaina Haught Beller, Alicia Haught Farley, Brian Haught, Nathan Stafford, Jeremy Stafford, Karah Stafford Engels, Amanda Stafford Cutbirth, Gabriel Bradshaw and thirteen great grandchildren.
