Edmund Fenske

Edmund Jacob Fenske, 100, of Pierce City, Missouri went to be with his Lord in Heaven on Wednesday December 5, 2018 while staying at Oak Pointe in Monett. He was born in Wentworth, Missouri on August 4, 1918; the son of the late Joe and Matilda (Gripka) Fenske. He was united in marriage in Sarcoxie, Missouri at St. Agnus Catholic Church on October 1, 1946 to Leonissa Koenig; she preceded him in death on September 6, 2014.

He was a farmer, a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City and a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving his country during World War II.

Edmund is survived by four sons: Joseph Fenske of Pierce City, James Fenske of Billings, Ronald Fenske of Pierce City, and David Fenske of Conway, Arkansas; one daughter: Judy Backus of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one brother: Lawrence Fenske of Springfield; twenty-one grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Matilda, his wife Leonissa, one brother: Louis Fenske, two sisters: Marie Heidlage and Josephine Fenske, and one son: Don Fenske.

Rosary is being held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City on Sunday December 9, 2018 at 6:00p.m. with visitation to follow Rosary. Funeral Mass is being held on Monday December 10, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Burial will follow Mass at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City.

Memorial donations for Edmund may be given to Church Masses.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
