James Clarence “Jimmy” Keeling, 79, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on June 6, 2020. Jimmy was born on February 12, 1941, the only child of Clarence and Vivian Keeling. He attended school through the eighth grade at the Butterfield School, and then high school at Cassville, graduating in 1959.
He spent many years working on the family farm with his parents. After the passing of his parents, he sold the farm and moved to Monett, where he spent many years working for the Monett school district.
He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous aunts and uncles, and by his cousins Bob (Christine) Keeling, Larry Keeling, and Gary Keeling. He is survived by his cousins, Jan (Jim) Austin of Joplin, Bill (Marty) Keeling of Rogers, AR, John (Debbie) Keeling of Boerne, TX, Jo Ann Keeling of Seneca, MO, and Jannis Keeling of Bolivar, MO.
Though faced with many challenges throughout his life, Jimmy served as an inspiration to many people, especially his cousins, their children, and their grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ralph Scott for his many years of support and friendship to Jimmy.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Sunday June 14 from 12:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. to pay respects and sign the book. Graveside services are being held at 11:00a.m. on Monday June 15, 2020 at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield, Missouri.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
