Joe was born June 9, 1957 in Borger, Texas, son of the late Lonnie L. Miller, Sr. and Erma Jean Moody Crow. He moved to Joplin at age five, and attended Parkwood High School.
He was a very talented woodworker, and enjoyed spending time building furniture. He worked for some time in security for Smith Security, and later Murray-Guard Security. He also worked for T-n-T Woodworking in Webb City for years. He attended Joplin Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include his children, Joe Miller, Jr., Pastor Paul Miller and wife Ursula, and Angela Mathis and husband Rocky all of Joplin; grandchildren, Dustin Davis, Bailey Davis, Emilee Mathis, Jordan Walker, and Jesse Miller; great-grandson, Jas' Spurgeon.
Funeral service will be Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Joplin Full Gospel Church with Pastor Josh Patrick officiating. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the family to help with final expenses.
