Nicki L. (Bubany) Howerton, age 73, of Carl Junction, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Nicki was born on November 3, 1946 in Carthage to the late Frank and Shirley (Vaughn) Bubany. She was a 1964 graduate of Carterville High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a sales representative for Philip Morris USA; owned Crane Family Foods; and managed North Carolina Furniture Mart.
Nicki is survived by her husband of 35 years, Terry Howerton; sister Cheryl Waldo, of Lockwood, MO; half-brother Frank Bubany, of Denver, CO; son Chuck Cruzan, of Eagle Rock, MO; daughter Angela Consani and son-in-law Quint, of Basehor, KS; daughter Brandy Jones and son-in-law Dustin, of Roland, AR; stepson Terry Howerton Jr. and husband Rich Aleong of Chicago, IL; stepdaughter Hilliary Howerton (deceased); grandsons, Max Stults and Reese Consani, both of Basehor, KS; and granddaughters, Victoria Howerton and Christian Kilpatrick, both of Chicago, IL. Nicki also had a large extended family that she loved dearly, including 7 grandpuppies.
A graveside committal of ashes will be held at the Carl Junction Cemetery on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin or Carthage Humane Society and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
