Rosa Lee Dilbeck, age 93, Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at her home with family at her side.
Rosa was born February 28, 1924 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, one of nine children born to the late Willie Holland and Mary Alverson Holland. She grew up in Cherry Hill, and Mena, Arkansas, before marring Ralph Leon Dilbeck on July 22, 1942 in Mena. They moved to Carthage in 1968. She was a proud stay at home mother, and was a Jehovah's Witness.
Rosa was a faithful servant of Jehovah, being baptized March 23, 1951. She devoted her life to serving Jehovah, and teaching Bible truths for the rest of her days.
She was known as the Hat Lady because she loved fancy hats and wore them on every opportunity.
She was loved and cherished by all she knew, and was an honorary grandma to her entire congregation. With her brilliant blue eyes, and a stunning smile, she was the sweetest, most loving person ever.
In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, who passed away on May 12, 2003, one brother, two sisters; a granddaughter, and a grandson.
Survivors include her children, Gladys M. Henry (Gary) of Carthage, Leon Dilbeck (Della) of Alvarado, Texas, R. Lyndon Dilbeck (Linda) of Neosho, Missouri, and Reva Davis (Jack) of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, four sisters; several nieces and nephews; the Worldwide brotherhood of Jehovah's Witnesses (over 8 million spiritual brothers and sisters); four exceptionally professional caregivers, Jesse Moreland, Marty Hutchison, Nancy Manire, and Diane Glaser; and her beloved Pitty Pat the Cat!
We miss her so much! We can't wait to see her happy and healthy in paradise on Earth as promised in the Holy Scriptures of Psalm 37:11 "But the meek will possess the Earth, and they will find their exquisite delight in the abundance of Peace."
Her ashes will be buried with her husband, Ralph, in Osborne Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
There will be a memorial service at a later date via Zoom, family and friends will be invited to watch when services are set.
