Bob Lewis

Robert “Bob” Lewis, age 74, departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father on June 21st, 2020. He died peacefully at his home in Shell Knob, Missouri surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born October 12, 1944 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Robert Delmer and Virgie (Davenport) Lewis. 

In 1966, he married Carolyn Weaver. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Carolyn, their two daughters and their husbands, Kim and Matt Nebel of La Vista, Nebraska, and Michele “Mitch” and Jeff Brown of Jacksboro, Texas. He leaves behind eight grandchildren who meant the world to him: Maddie, Sarah, Emma, Molly and Charlie Nebel and Anna, Libby, and Phoebe Mosley. 

Preceding him in death are his parents and a son, Michael. 








Bob graduated from Neosho High School in 1962 and joined the Air Force in 1965, where he served as a payroll technician for 24 years. He served in the Vietnam War from 1967-1968. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for the Kansas Turnpike Authority as a payroll technician for 18 years while living in Belle Plaine, Kansas.

Bob & Carolyn moved to Shell Knob, Missouri in 2008 to retire by family. Bob was an active member of the First Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder. Bob was also a member of the Alliance of Churches where he served two terms as president. He was in charge of the food pantry for approximately five years. He was also a member of the VFW.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25th at First Christian Church, Shell Knob at 11am under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. The visitation will begin at 10 am, also at First Christian. Immediately following the service, the burial will be at Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob.
