James Lynn "Jim" Farris, age 72, Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth after a short illness.
Jim was born August 29, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of the late Howard M. Farris and Martha June Burg Farris. He moved to California as a child, and grew up there before joining the United States Army as a 17 year old. He served for over 12 years, serving in Vietnam before moving to Fort Worth, Texas. He has lived there since the late 1970's working in maintenance for varied companies and individuals.
Survivors include his sisters, Patricia Smith (Richard) of Carl Junction, Missouri, Sharon Eifert (Richard) of Flippin, Arkansas, LaDonna Sweeten (Gordon) of Joplin, and Starlene Wooton (Don) of Flippin; 12 nieces and nephews, Cindy Mesplay, Debbie Morris (Kevin), Rick Smith (Stacey), Cheryl Wentworth (Bob), Bryan Smith, KJ Reynolds (Emily), Chris Reynolds, Erica Pefferman, Elisa Bittner (Richard), Jennifer Woodard (Gerred), Nick Wooton (Brea), Cortnie Killion (Jeremy); several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Missouri Veteran's National Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri with full military honors.
