Lawrence Scholl

On Thursday December 3rd 2020 Lawrence Ray Scholl, a loving husband, father of four, stepfather of two, grandfather of eight, great grandfather of one, and a friend to many, passed away at the age of 68 years old due to COVID. Lawrence was born on October 10th 1952 in Kansas City, MO to Velmer and Willa Scholl.

He is preceded in death by his father Velmer Scholl, wife Janet Scholl, mother Willa Scholl and wife Penny Scholl.

He is survived by two brothers John Scholl and Bob Scholl and 1 sister Melinda Reece, 4 children Tim Scholl (Lea Rounds) April Shutte (Terry Shutte) William Scholl( Stephnie Scholl), Krista Scholl and fiancé Guy Michaud, two stepdaughters Natalie and Whitney Garrett, eight grandchildren Amber Patrick, Jermiah Krigbaum, Brianna Scholl, Mariah Krigbaum, Trinity Scholl, Kilah Krigbaum, Corbin Scholl, Kathryn Shutte and one great-grandchild Korbyn Patrick.








In 1971, Lawrence enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Vietnam, Cold War and Desert Storm, during this time frame he married Janet K. Huff, they raised two sons and two daughters together. Lawrence then retired from the Air Force in 1995 after 24 years of dedicated service. From there he continued his passion for trains and worked for the MNA railroad. 

After he left the railroad, he continued his education at Missouri Southern State University to earn his associate's degree in criminal justice. Once he accomplished his associated degree, he started his career as a security supervisor at the National Guard in Springfield, MO. He worked there from 2001 after 9/11 until January 1st , 2016 when he retired. 

Later on, he moved to Claremore, OK with his wife Penny Scholl and enjoyed the experience of the county life that reminded him of his childhood.

Lawrence has always been a hard worker, with a passion for farm life since he was a little boy. He was raised to work for what he wanted, and that has been passed on from generation to generation. Lawrence was fond of train and airplane models. He also was interested in many different genres of music, but one of his favorites was Elvis. He also loved taking pictures and traveling all of the united states.

Memorial services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation immediately following the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
