(From Ozark Funeral Home)Diana Ross, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Wednesday, December 21st,2021 in Neosho, MO.
Diana was born September 24,1952 in Streator, Illinois to the late Ruth Cruse and Bert Flanary.
She attended school in Granby and later MSSC and Crowder College where she was an award-winning editor for the school newspaper, The Crowder Quill. She continued her career by writing for several magazines, including Ozarks Mountaineer magazine, and eventually becoming a copy editor working for several well known authors where you will find her name in the credits.
Diana was instrumental in starting several online writer's groups and the McDonald County Barter Group.
She loved writing, gardening, flowers, learning about herbs and their healing powers, fishing and spending time with her family.
Diana is survived by her husband John, son Dr. Shane Hopper of St. Louis, son and daughter in law, Jeff and Teresa Hopper of St. Louis, grandchildren Liam and Helena Hopper of St. Louis, brother David Flanary of Anderson, sister and brother-in-law Donna and Robert Cacy of Chickasha, OK, nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.
Diana is loved my many and will be missed by those left behind,
According to Diana's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no funeral service
A sad loss, another for 2021. I first met Diana when we both served as editors for the very first Crowder Quill. We co-founded a writer's organization and she did some editing for me over the years. She will be missed in this world.
