(From Parker Mortuary)Donald “Donnie” Wilson, age 59, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Donnie was born on February 20, 1962 to Dean and Pat (Frazier) Wilson in Joplin. He grew up in Carl Junction, graduating from Carl Junction High School Class in 1980. He was employed as a bartender and was known to his patrons for his sense of humor and being a great conversationalist. He had worked at Garfield’s, Raphael’s and other local restaurants. He was currently employed with Hogs & Hot Rods, where he enjoyed being a part of planning benefits and fundraisers for others in need. Donnie was a caring and loving son, father, brother and uncle who will be missed.
Survivors include his mother, Pat Wilson, of Joplin; his daughter, Madison Wilson, of Joplin; two brothers, Dean Wilson (Marianne) of Carl Junction, and David Wilson of Joplin; nieces and nephews, Erin Wilson (Charles) of Carl Junction, Sara Grieb (Brian) of Carl Junction, Taylor Wilson (Gloria) of Oronogo, Collin Wilson (Jessica) of Kansas City, and Matthew Wilson of Carl Junction. Donnie was preceded in death by his father and four grandparents.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Carl Junction. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to AFMA (Acute Flaccid Myelitis Association) and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
